DEVICE FOR LOADING/UNLODING AND TRANSPORTATION OF HEAVY CARGO ON LIGHTER-VESSEL Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: water transport; loading/unloading and transportation of heavy cargoes. SUBSTANCE: proposed device includes lighter-vessel 1, aft cantilever panels 3 located on either side projecting beyond aft break and traveling gantry crane 9 mounted on rails laid on either side on deck of vessel and on aft cantilever panels. Bearing masts 7 mounted on either side on deck of vessel are provided with system of blocks for shrouds and winches for tightening these shrouds; winches are located near base of bearing mast and are connected with system of blocks. Articulated with aft cantilever panels are swinging-out cantilever beams secured to ship s hull by means of shrouds passed through system of blocks mounted in upper extremities of bearing masts. Length of swinging-out beams is equal to 0.8-0.9 of length of aft cantilever panels. EFFECT: extended field of application. 1 dwg
