FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device mounted on pipe line for determination of velocity head in preset area of cross section includes actuating unit having total pressure tube and static pressure tube which are filled with liquid medium and are provided with actuating members at their ends and two measuring tubes; mounted at one end of each measuring tube is actuating member and ultrasonic transducer is mounted at other end; their cavities are communicated by means of additional tube. Electronic unit includes sounding impulses, two amplifiers, two diodes, five electronic switches, logic AND- gate, OR- gate and recording and indicating circuit. In the course of cycle of measurements, several cycles of re- radiation of sounding impulses (acoustic signal of ultrasonic transducers) are performed and one information signal is shaped at moments of their simultaneous recording after which sequence of these signal is read off; repetition period of these signal is indicative of instantaneous flow rate and their number is indicative of total flow rate.
