FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: insulated wire is wound onto a coil and put into a closed case. A socket piece is fixed into an access hole in the lower part of the case. A conduit connects the socket piece to a tank, filled with an insulating substance. Air is pumped into the tank at the same time as air is pumped out of the vacuum chamber. This creates a pressure difference, which results in the insulating substance moving along the conduit and filling the cavity of the electromagnet. The conduit is then blocked and pressure in the vacuum chamber is varied periodically, alternating pumping air into it and maintaining high pressure with pumping out air from it and maintaining low pressure, until the air bubbling intensity in the terminal box of the electromagnet is low. The conduit is disconnected from the socket piece. The socket piece is closed and the electromagnet is put into an oven. The insulating mass undergoes complete hardening and the socket piece is removed.
EFFECT: improved quality of insulation and increased efficiency of operation of the electromagnet.
