FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: method consists in gamma-irradiation of product at elevated temperature in melt in inert medium. Melt is first cooled and irradiation is carried out until dose 5-35 Mrad is absorbed, while temperature of product is reduced during irradiation procedure by 0.8- 1 C per 1 Mrad so that temperature of product is maintained below melting temperature of polytetrafluoroethylene but above crystallization temperature. EFFECT: decreased creeping and increased wear resistance of products at the same coefficient of fiction characteristic of polytetrafluoroethylene non-modified by radiation. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl, 5 ex
