FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves making two 3-4 cm long incisions in skin and subcutaneous fat on lateral sides of the chest in the sixth intercostal space projection. Retrosternal tunnel is built. Titanium plate is bent in advance to make it S- shaped. The plate is introduced into the tunnel with it concave end and its convex end is set behind the sternum arranging it and the ribs in this way in anatomically correct position. After being brought outside, the concave plate end is bent in conformity with chest shape. Then, the plate is attached to the fifth and the sixth rib. EFFECT: reduced risk of traumatic complications; improved esthetic and functional results. 9 dwg
