FIELD: mechanical engineering; materials handling facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to conveyor transport, mainly to tensioning devices of main line and section belt conveyors. Proposed tensioning device of belt conveyor consists of tensioning drum installed on carriage for longitudinal travel relative to frame, cable sheaves with wound-on cable, belt tension control pickup, flexible member and mechanism for creating additional force to tension the belt made in form of winch with drum. Some cable sheaves are arranged on carriage, and others, on flexible member made in form of twin spring compensator, thus forming pulley-block system together with wound on cable. One end of cable is fastened on belt tension control pickup, and the other, on winch drum. Winch, in its turn, interacts with reduction gear through clutch. Invention increases service life of belt owing to provision of high accurate of adjustment of minimum tolerable pretension of belt within wide range at any operating conditions of conveyor. EFFECT: reduced power consumption at simplified design and reduced overall dimensions. 2 dwg
