FIELD: medicine, biology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for preparing collagen and can be used in treatment of different tissue pathology and for cells culturing. Method involves cleansing and milling collagen-containing raw, extraction of non-collagen proteins with 0.3-0.02 M Na2HPO4, pH 8.7-9.1 and extraction of collagen with organic acid. Then collagen is precipitated with NaCl from acid solution, dialyzed against 0.02 M Na2HPO4 and dissolved by dialysis against 1 M 0.017 M of acetic acid successively. Human skin, any tendons, animal hides after removal of hair from their surface are used as raw and bacterial proteases from Bacillus or Bacillus lichenoformis group are used. Acetic, citric or formic acid is used as organic acid. Method provides significant yield of collagen of high quality that shows low immunogenic and allergenic activity, doesn't promote to hypercytokine formation and provides effective treatment of different pathologies of body tissues. EFFECT: improved preparing method, valuable medicinal properties of collagen. 17 cl, 1 tbl
