SUBSTANCE: invention provides catalyst for production of nitrous oxide by oxidizing ammonia with oxygen or oxygen-containing gas, which catalyst includes manganese-containing active component, iron oxide, alkali-earth metal oxide, and alumina. In particular, active component is mixed amorphous oxide phase Mn-R with nonstoichiometric analysis MnRxOy (0,05≤2,24; 2,08≤y≤5,36) wherein R is bismuth and/or lanthanoid, or mixture amorphous phase MnRxOy and crystalline manganese-containing phase.
