FIELD: metallurgy, namely methods and apparatuses for casting thin belt, for example steel belts. SUBSTANCE: method for continuous casting of thin belt, preferably with thickness less than 10 mm comprises steps of casting melt metal to gap formed between two rolls and corresponding to thickness of cast belt at providing melt bath; blowing out surface of casting rolls over melt bath with inert gas or with mixture of inert gases depending upon state of surface of casting rolls; in order to prevent local thermic deformations, observing surface of casting rolls along their length in zones of different states; realizing gas blowing of casting rolls after occurring different-state zones in different modes depending upon states of roll surface along their length. Apparatus for performing the method includes several gas supply devices for each separate zone of roll surface; unit for observing separate zone of roll surface connected with control unit.
