FIELD: continuous casting of thin metallic articles. SUBSTANCE: plant consists of two refractory plates for holding molten metal bath at sides; molten metal is obtained from two roll rotating in opposite directions with above-mentioned plates pressed against their ends. Preset distance is maintained between rolls. Refractory plates are heated at adjustable deformation on basis of data obtained from mathematical model. Control of deformation is effected throughout entire period of casting. EFFECT: reduced wear of surfaces of refractory plates and ends of rolls; minimum leakage of molten metal; reduced defects of edges; avoidance of hardening of steel on side walls. 9 cl, 3 dwg, 1 ex
