FIELD: machine tool manufacture, determination of geometry position of cutting tool relative to coordinate system of machine tool. SUBSTANCE: attachment includes pickup provided with electric circuit for detecting position of cutting tool in coordinate system of machine tool. Said pickup is in the form of two mutually normal rollers; each roller is mounted in two pairs of bearing members rigidly secured to base having basic planes and providing electrical contact with rollers. Said electric circuit serves for detecting electric contact of rollers with edges of cutting tool or for detecting contact of each roller with its bearing member. Rollers are spring-loaded along one of coordinate axes and they are mounted with possibility of removing from one or from several bearing members.
