FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sorption engineering and can be used in production of sorbents for air purification from harmful discharges in atmosphere, containing toxic gases, vapors of organic matters and ammonia. The method uses impregnation of active coal with a solution of nickelous chloride, heat treatment and dispersion, and before heat treatment impregnated active coal keep outdoors within 2.0-2.5 hours, and heat treatment is conduct by mixing the wet impregnated coal with heat-transfer agent (a natural gas having temperature 500-600 C during 20-25 minutes up to a fraction of total mass of a moisture in an absorber will be no more than 3 %. EFFECT: the method allows to receive a high-activity absorber, at that productivity of the process considerably increases as compared with the prototype. 2 tbl
