FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to design of steering booster built into steering column to reduce steering force on steering wheel. Proposed electric booster contains housing with intermediate end face wall dividing the housing into two spaces different radial dimensions relative to axis of steering gear shaft. First space includes first end face wall and intermediate end face wall and it accommodates output shaft with hollow section enclosed by hollow rotor of electric motor installed in end face walls of first space on two bearings with torque pickup torsion bar installed in hollow section of output shaft and hollow end of output shaft with splined part. Second space containing second end face wall and intermediate end face wall accommodates torsion bar twisting angle meter and part of input shaft with outer splines installed on bearing in second end face wall of second space. One fixed element in torsion bar twisting angle meter is connected with housing of electric booster is second space, and second fixed element is connected with end face of hollow section of output shaft. EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of electric steering booster for enlarging its assembling capabilities, increasing reliability and driving comfort. 6 cl, 3 dwg
