FIELD: shipbuilding and ship-repairing; cleaning underwater hulls. SUBSTANCE: proposed technological tool carrier includes load-bearing frame, buoyancy boxes, drive mechanisms, engine and underwater switching unit for communication with surface operator s station. Tool carrier is provided with template mechanism for moving the carrier and locking it on surface being cleaned. Template mechanism is secured on frame; it consists of cross-piece with rods to whose ends electromagnets are articulated and template mechanism with chutes. Pins secured on rods are slidable in chutes of template mechanism performing reciprocating motion and rotary motion around axis. Trajectory of motion of rods is set by immovable chutes of template mechanism and slots located on revolving cross-piece. Pivot axle of rod is connected with electric motor by means electromagnetic clutch. Provision is made for change-over of electromagnets when they are in contact with surface being cleaned.
