FIELD: cathode corrosion protection. SUBSTANCE: proposed device is designed for operation in current-conducting medium; device has DC source connected through pulse amplifier to structure protected and to earth unit placed in current-conducting medium at preset distance from structure protected. Device is also provided with potential measuring electrode and polarization electrode measuring electrode placed in current-conducting medium and connected with pulse shaping circuit whose output is connected with control input of pulse amplifier. Fitted in series between power source and pulse amplifier are charging unit and energy accumulator. Pulse shaping circuit is provided with controller for regulation of functional dependence of ratio of duration of current pulse to interval between pulses on difference of potentials between electrodes; it forms duration of current pulse and/or interval between pulses. Energy accumulator is made in form of capacitor with double electric layer or in form of capacitor bank.
