FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: device has bendable optical part manufactured from flexible material. The haptic part is shaped as closed curvilinear figures from rigid material and is located in the principal plain of the optical part. The haptic part has two flat arch-like bearing members of differing lengths belonging to the principal lens plain with concave parts facing each other. Method involves carrying out continuous circular capsulorhexis, removing lens nucleus by means of phacoemulsification; introducing artificial eye lens into anterior capsulorhexis area and fixing it on the anterior capsulorhexis edge. The optical part is bent to bring the loops in each pair into engagement. One end of the greater arc-shaped bearing member is first introduced via the operation incision into the anterior capsulorhexis area. Then, the optical part with loops and lesser arc- shaped bearing member is introduced in folded state using forceps. The loops are turned towards cornea. EFFECT: high reliability of artificial eye lens; reduced risk of traumatic complications. 2 cl, 1 dwg
