FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: intraocular lens (IOL) is flat, made of a biocompatible material, and sectional of optical and haptic portions lying in the main plane of the optical portion. The optical and haptic portions are coupled in the process of implantation. The IOL comprises two identical diametrical slots. The haptic portion has a central hole with a diameter being 2-4 mm smaller than that of the optical part, and the slots are non-closed and have a shape of a side periphery of the haptic portion. Front and back surfaces of the haptic portion are rough. A side end surface of the optical portion has an annular groove 1 to 2 mm deep and 150 to 500 mcm high congruent to an inner surface of the haptic portion.
