FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to track facilities designed for regulating speed of cuts on mechanized and automated hump yards. Proposed retarder contains brake beams with blocks coupled by means of leverage with pneumatic cylinder and spring mechanism, air system with air collectors, base of post. Leverage is made in form of bell crank and additional lever with common axle. Spring mechanism is connected by one side to bell crank, and by other side, to base post by means of hinge support. Housing of spring mechanism is provided with inspection ports. Bushings of sliding bearings and trapezoidal thread of pressure and adjusting bolts of leverage are coated with wear-resistant layer in form of solid lubricant MoS2.. EFFECT: improved reliability of rail car retarder in service, reduced cost of maintenance. 2 cl, 3 dwg
