FIELD: mechanical engineering; enhancing fatigue characteristics of parts made from titanium alloys such as compressor blades of gas-turbine engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes shot blasting followed by heat treatment; shot blasting is performed at rate of 30-70 m/s and is continued for 30-60 s; heat treatment consists in tempering continued for 3-6 h at temperature not below operating temperature and not above 450 C. It is good practice to perform shot blasting with th aid of glass or metal micro-balls at diameter of 50-400 mcm; tempering temperature ranges from 300 to 450 C. Blades of compressors of gas-turbine engines are used as parts made from titanium alloys. EFFECT: increased fatigue limit. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 1 tbl
