FIELD: metallurgy; electrochemical treatment of transition metals and alloys. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of microarc oxidation and the device for its realization, that may be used in metallurgy, in particular - in electrochemical processing of surfaces of transition metals and alloys. The method provides for immersing a detail in electrolyte, preparation of a detail surface for oxidation by electrochemical etching and depositing an electrolytic film before application of voltage. The process is conducted at density of electric current up to 20 kA/m sq and is finished by supplying voltage with an increased cathode component. The device for the method implementation contains: a bath with electrolyte, the body of which is connected to the terminal of an alternating voltage network; a voltage former for electrochemical etching and depositing a detail with a film connected to the detail, a control unit, a condenser battery made of two parts, connected with the help of switches in parallel or in series, through which from the second terminal of a power supply network through a switch the voltage is supplied to the detail and the electric valve, one end of which is connected to one lead of the second part of the condenser battery, and the second end - to another lead of the second part of the battery.
