FIELD: production of tires. SUBSTANCE: the invention presents a method of separation of ferromagnetic impurities from products of comminution of the worn tires and a device for the method realization. The invention is intended for separation of comminuted fragments of the metal cord from a mixture of a textile fibers and comminuted rubber produced in the process of the worn auto tires mechanical comminution. Technical result - decrease of wear of the comminuted rubber with the ferromagnetic impurities, increase of the work effectiveness. The method and the device for separation of the ferromagnetic impurities from products of comminution of the worn tires is realized in a ferromagnetic impurities from products of comminution of the worn tires in a launder separator at the frequency of the launder oscillations of 10 50 Hz and an amplitude of oscillations of 0.5 - 5 mm. Separation of ferromagnetic impurities is realized during the mixture falling down from the vibrating launder mounted on a skeleton at an angle of 0 10 dg to horizon by the magnet system built inside a traveling band installed over the end of the launder so, that the direction of its band motion is perpendicular to the direction of the separated mixture motion along the launder. For separation of the agglomerated mixture of products of comminution the worn tires they install across the launder a system of partitions with a clearance in respect to the launder surface and decreasing in the mixture motion direction from magnitude "h" in the zone of the mixture loading on the launder up to magnitude of 0.2 "h" - in the zone of the mixture unloading from the launder, where "h" is the greatest of the sizes of the most large agglomerate of the separated mixture.
