FIELD: ammunition for automatic small arms. SUBSTANCE: armor-piercing and tracer bullet is designed to hit personnel both protected and unprotected by individual protection means ( armor jackets ) and to mark path of bullet flight. Bullet has shell that houses steel or hard-alloy core and tracer cartridge with insert of soft material, for example polyethylene or lead, positioned between them. Core can have sharp edge across section of nose. Bullet is produced with following relation of parameters of its elements L=(4.0-5.2)d; R=(8.8-11.5)d; l1 = (1,8÷3,0)d, l2 = (0,95÷1,35)d, where d is caliber of bullet; L is length of bullet; R is radius of head part of bullet; l1 is length of core; l2 is length of head part of core with constant length of tracer cartridge. EFFECT: improved density of hits thanks to displacement of center of mass to leading part, raised armor-piercing effect of bullet. 2 cl, 11 dwg
