FIELD: processing of radar information. SUBSTANCE: invention can find use in coherent-pulse tracking radars for identification of false targets of any type against background of real targets. Problem of identification of false targets is suggested to solve by two radars spaced apart over locality, main and additional, in two stages. It is suggested to use main radar alone at first stage and to select more simple false targets of TALD type. It is proposed to employ method of comparison of diagrams of backward secondary radiation obtained on different aspects of target location. If diagrams coincide decision of presence of false targets is made. Otherwise decision on presence of false target or use of false targets of MALD type is made more specific at second stage of identification. To make final decision it is suggested to compare diagrams of backward secondary radiation obtained by two radars, main and additional, spaced apart over locality. In case of difference of diagrams of backward secondary radiation final decision on presence of real target is made, otherwise final decision on presence of false targets is made.
