FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: charts for amplitude module and phase-argument of one or more integrated elements of the scattering matrix of the true target are measured simultaneously in the forward hemisphere of viewing angles in the linear polarization basis using a radar station, the decoy is similarly measured, wherein dispersions and the arithmetic mean values of physical quantities are calculated for each pair of identical samples of charts for similar physical variables (amplitude and phase) of the true and the false target, the ratio of the smaller values of calculated physical quantity (dispersion, average amplitude and phase) to a larger value is determined for each pair of samples. The degree of identity of the true and false targets is determined by the arithmetic mean ratio of the sum of private relations between physical quantities and the true and false targets are considered identical when the arithmetic mean ratio of private relations is equal to one.
EFFECT: determining the identity of the true and false targets by samples from the charts of static radar characteristics.
