FIELD: production of nitrogen monoxide by oxidation of ammonia by oxygen or oxygen-containing gas; semi-conductor, medical, perfume, food-processing and chemical industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes oxidation of ammonia by oxygen or oxygen-containing gas in presence of oxide catalyst performed in fluidized bed of catalyst by delivery of first reaction flow containing mainly oxygen to lower part of fluidized bed and delivery of second reaction flow containing mainly ammonia to middle part of catalyst bed; distance between points of introduction of these flows is equal to 1-70% of height of catalyst bed. Proposed method ensures direct production of target product-nitrogen monoxide diluted at preset proportion by inert gas. EFFECT: reduced power requirements. 8 cl
