FIELD: surfacing wear resistant layer by means of open electric arc, namely restoring articles of high-manganese steels. SUBSTANCE: wire contains components in next relation, mass%: manganese, 10 - 15; molybdenum, 1.5 - 6.0; ferrochrome, 0.5 - 5.0; ferrovanadium, 0.4 - 1.5; fluorite concentrate, 1.5 -4.5; marbor, 0.1 - 1.5; rutile concentrate, 0.2 -0.6; silicocalcium, 0.2 - 1.4; soda ash, 0.2 - 0.8; envelope, the balance. EFFECT: enhanced resistance of surfaced metal against hot cracking, pore formation, lowered splashing of electrode metal at surfacing process, enlarged using range of wire, decreased cost of restoring operations. 6 tbl
