SUBSTANCE: apparatus has evaporative unit arranged in process gas flow upstream of tobacco drying unit and upstream of zone, where tobacco is fed into process gas. Evaporative unit for supplying of water steam into process gas flow of tobacco dryer has straight-flow boiler, where water supplied through set of spraying nozzles is completely evaporated when it comes into contact with process gas. Method involves introducing steam into process gas by supplying and evaporating of water, with water in process gas flow evaporating in evaporative unit downstream of tobacco dryer and before feeding of tobacco into process gas.
