FIELD: neurology and dermatology. SUBSTANCE: amount of sphingomyelin in liquor of patients is determined with the aid of flow thin-layer chromatography. When sphingomyelin level is between 3.0 and 3.7 mg%, noncomplicated syphilis, and at sphingomyelin level 8.7-11.1 mg%, syphilis are diagnosed. EFFECT: increased diagnostics efficiency.
