FIELD: method and equipment for tubular package sealing around item.

SUBSTANCE: method of wrapping item 2, particularly hygienic tampons for women's use, involves forming tubular member 1 around item 2 such that opened part 3 of tubular member extends outwards from free front end of item 1; pressing opened part 3 of tubular member and connecting sides of opened part 3 by gripping means 10, 10' for forming front part 6, 8 of wrapping sheet; bending front part 6, 8 over tubular member 1 around front end of item 1 and connecting bent front part to item 1.

EFFECT: elimination of compound motion of device components, reduced wrapping film consumption, extended range of film to be used.
