FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: claimed invention relates to envelopes of absorbing products for personal use, such as tampons. In particular, the invention relates to envelopes for tampons, which can be opened without rupturing the envelope, preserving its integrity. A packed elongated intravaginal device is in fact covered with an envelope. The envelope has a longitudinal seam, which is located mainly parallel to the longitudinal axis. The seam includes the first layer of the envelope material, which is located on the first edge of the envelope blank, applied on the second layer of the envelope material, which is located on the second edge of the envelope blank, opposite the first layer. The envelope has in fact a continuous line of weakening, which passes from the first edge of the envelope blank to the second edge and embraces the periphery of the intravaginal device by at least 360°.
EFFECT: line of weakening passes through the longitudinal overlapping seam and includes elements, applied on each layer of the overlapping seam, and the line of weakening passes in such a way that the end and the beginning of the line of weakening are separated from each other in such a way as not to overlap, in this way the envelope remains a single structure in case of destruction of the line of weakening.
