SUBSTANCE: method of packing a tampon consists of stages, at which a packing film is provided on a spindle in the form of a hollow tube, folding surface is formed by rotation of hollow tube and spindle at opposite rotation of plate having multiple bending blades extending from it outward, distally from its axis of rotation, to form a plurality of folds that form a folded surface substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the hollow tube, wherein each bending knife interacts with a portion of the protruding portion of the tube, heat and pressure are applied to the folded surface to form a closed end; a tampon is inserted into the tube and the first end of the tube is closed. Apparatus for forming a packaging tube for a tampon comprises a plurality of rotatable spindles. Each spindle has a first end extending from the rotating platform and a second end distal from the first end. Device further comprises a tube closing station comprising a plurality of bending blades arranged in series and made in a fan-shaped configuration in a plane, perpendicular to rotation axis of rotating platform and heater. Each of plurality of rotating spindles is made with possibility of movement to station of pipe closing and rotation in direction opposite to bending knives, to form a row of folds at the end of the tube of the packaging film formed around such a rotatable spindle for thermally bonding a row of folds at the second end of each spindle.
