SUBSTANCE: invention proposes the yeast strain Pichia angusta VKM Y-2924D as a producer of recombinant surface antigen of hepatitis B virus of subtype yaw. The strain has been generated by insertion the DNA sequence into yeast cells that encodes HbsAg/ayw and fused with gene MOX promoter and gene TRP3. The strain provides high yield of recombinant antigen of hepatitis B virus serotype yaw using the more simple methods used for preparing cultures with high cell density. Invention can be used for microbiological method for preparing the recombinant surface antigen of hepatitis B virus.
