FIELD: metallurgy; loading a charge in a blast furnace.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertinent to the field of metallurgy, in particular to loading a charge in a blast furnace. For equalization of pressure before the charge material lowering-in a blast furnace, the -hopper of the loading device is filled with compressed noble gas, creating there the pressure exceeding the pressure in the space of a blast-furnace mouth. At opening the hopper bottom gate feeding of the compressed noble gas is continued during the charge materials unloading process till the hopper bottom gate closed. The required volume of the compressed noble gas is determine from the following dependence: Vг = (Vб + Vк) • [Gм /Yм, • (1-Fм)], where: Vг - volume of compressed noble gas, m3; Vб - volume of the loading hopper, m3 ; Vк - volume of an underhopper channel, m3; Gм - the charge mass in the hopper, ton; Yм -
Bulk mass of the charge material, ton/ m3; Fм - the charge fractional void volume,
m3/m3. At use of the invention it ensures prevention of blast-furnace gas exhausts in the atmosphere.
