FIELD: production of neutron absorbing materials.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes coating of at least part of shielding component surface with base material incorporating element having large neutron capture sectional area and metal element deposited in electrolytic or autocatalytic process. In the course of coating relative displacements are set up from time to time between surface being coated and solution for applying dispersion coat, element with large neutron capture sectional area being held in solution for applying dispersion coat in electricity conduction joint. Absorbing element has inorganic base material to be used as support for coat incorporating element having large neutron capture sectional area and metal element. Coat has element with large neutron capture sectional area in the amount over 30 volume percent.

EFFECT: reduced weight of absorbing elements produced by this method.
