FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is designed for use in units of friction parts of machines and mechanisms furnished with closed circulation lubricating systems. According to proposed method, metal-containing addition is introduced into operating lubricating material at content of wear products corresponding to G≥μ+2ς where G is actual content (concentration of mass of chemical elements) of wear products in operating lubricating material; μ is mode of density of distribution of concentration or mass of chemical element of wear in operating lubricating material for machines of said type; ς is RMS deviation of concentration or mass of chemical element of wear in operating lubricating material as compared with expectation. After introduction of addition, lubricating material is subjected to action of magnetic field built by permanent magnets and then is delivered to zone of friction.
EFFECT: improved tribological properties of lubricating material providing increased wear resistance of friction pairs.
