FIELD: inorganic chemistry, chemical technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to iodine technology, in particular, to technology for extraction of iodine from the natural raw - underground mineralized waters (concentrated saline solutions). Method involves stage for oxidation of iodide ions to elementary iodine followed by sorption of the latter in column with ionite layer circulating from top to bottom and with ascending flow of solution and the following desorption of iodine. Solution is fed into column in pulsing regimen according to the equation: t1/t2 = (H/D)0.4 wherein t1 means time for solution feeding; t2 means resting time; H means height of ionite layer; D means diameter of column. At resting period ionite is removed from column and at period for feeding a solution the ionite layer in column remains to be immobile that provides enhancing the effectiveness of iodine extraction.
EFFECT: improved and enhanced extraction of iodine.
