FIELD: biotechnology, steroids, genetic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method for preparing ergosterol and its intermediate products is based on using recombinant yeast strains that are able to synthesize enhanced amounts of ergosterol, and plasmid used for transformation of yeast. The species S.cerevisiae is the preferable yeast strain. Expression vectors YepH2, pADL-SAT1 and YDpUHK3 are used as plasmids being each of them comprises the inserted expression cassette comprising the mean ADH1-promoter and terminator TRP. Products formed as result of superexpression can be used for different biotransformation aims.
EFFECT: improved preparing method.
