SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for modulating effect of ligand FAS-R or TNF on cells. Polypeptide that is able to bind with MORT-1 and exert on intracellular process of signal transfer initiating by binding ligand FAS with its receptor or by binding TNF with p55-TNF-R is prepared by culturing cells transformed with vector comprising DNA encoding polypeptide. Modulation of effect of ligand FAS-R or TNF on cells or modulation of MORT-1-induced effect is carried out using polypeptide binding with MORT-1, or a nucleotide sequence encoding thereof. Pharmaceutical composition for modulating effect of ligand FAS-R or TNF on cells comprises polypeptide binding with MORT-1. Invention allows carrying out the development of agents for treatment of tumor or HIV-infected cells.

EFFECT: improved methods for treatment, isolation and identification of proteins, valuable biological and medicinal properties of polypeptide.
