FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.

SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of control of internal combustion engine with direct injection of gasoline including at least two rows, namely, two groups of cylinders, control of each cylinder is provided basing on preset torque and mode of operation. At least two modes of operation are provided at each of which injection takes place. At least at one of modes of operation, one row and, consequently, one group of cylinders is operated at first mode (BAsoll 1) and second row of cylinders is operated at second mode (BAsoll 2). Changeable preset value of torque (Misoill 1, Misoill 2) is set for each of said groups depending on which torque developed by cylinders of each row and consequently, of each group is controlled. Device to control operation of internal combustion engine with direct injection of gasoline and provided with at least two rows and, accordingly, two groups of cylinders which can operate at two modes includes at least one control unit which operates said groups and, consequently, said rows of cylinders of internal combustion engine basing on preset values of torque and mode. Control unit is provided with devices which, at least under one preset mode of operation, ensure operation of first row and, consequently, first group of cylinders under first mode (BAsoll 1) and operation of cylinders of second row, and, consequently, second group under second mode (Basoll 2). Under each mode gasoline is injected and changeable preset value of torque (Misoll 1, MisoLL 2) is set for each group of cylinders depending on which torque developed by cylinders of each row and consequently, each group, is controlled.

EFFECT: increased developed power, reduced gasoline consumption, noise level of engine, improved vehicle comfort.
