WOUND BANDAGE Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2236870 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with developing wound bandages absorbing excessive wound liquid. The bandage suggested contains the layer of hydrophilic frothed material covered on its one side with liquid-permeable layer of sticky substance, moreover, at the layer of frothed material at opposite side there is the layer of absorbing material consisting of either one or more absorbing bodies out of filamentous material, moreover, the layer of absorbing material is capable to drain the layer of frothed material due to action of capillary forces, moreover, the bandage mentioned contains means to provide contact between the layer of absorbing material and that of frothed one, moreover, the layer of hydrophilic frothed material has got thickness of 2 mm, not higher and average size of pores being 300-500 mcm. Sticky covering being a constituent of the above-mentioned bandage consists predominantly of soft, sticky, hydrophobic elastomer. This bandage enables to substitute absorbing elements by not touching wound-adjacent layer, decrease the risk for skin maceration around the wound.
