FIELD: wavelength-division multiplexing systems.
SUBSTANCE: dispersion compensating modules and addition/removal modules are chosen in compliance with dispersion level of signals transferred over definite channels. The latter are divided with aid of optical addition/removal multiplexer so that designer knows in advance modules and their quantity to be disposed in drop waveguides. In essence, equal output signal is ensured for each drop waveguide. Proposed design can likewise ensure interconnection of greater number of users by means of addition/removal modules which do not need intermediate stage of optical signal conversion into electric signals in the course of addition and removal.
EFFECT: provision for signal dispersion correction actually down to zero.
