FIELD: caking of fine-dispersed manganese-containing material with utilization of heat generated on combustion of manganese compounds.
SUBSTANCE: method involves caking fine-dispersed material containing highly oxidized manganese compounds with particles of size below 6 mm by means of carbon-containing material in conveyor-type continuous caking apparatus; providing drying; preliminary heating; caking and cooling procedures; feeding material to be processed to drying and preliminary heating zone; directing through material hot gas discharged from last stage of at least two-staged cooling zone; caking material in reaction zone by using of hot gas introduced from first stage of cooling zone, said hot gas causing combustion reaction between manganese compounds contained in material and carbon-containing material, acting as fuel material, and resulting in elevation of temperature of material to caking temperature; after termination of caking process and before discharge of caked material from apparatus, caked material is delivered to cooling zone for cooling thereof by passing through caked material of gas, which is further used in drying and preliminary heating zone, as well as in reaction zone.
EFFECT: increased efficiency and reduced production costs.
