FIELD: microwave engineering; single- and double-mode microwave tubes.

SUBSTANCE: slow-down of operating spatial harmonic of each c/VnH section equals slow-down of electron beam c/VIH = c/ViIH = … c/VNH = c/Ve where C is light speed, VnH is phase speed of operating spatial harmonic of n-th section at its passband frequency fn; Ve is electron beam speed; bn speed parameter of each section at frequency fn + (f2 - f1) does not exceed 3 bI, bII …, bn, … bN ≤ 3. Proposed O-type tube used in developing both single- and double-mode high-power devices has made it possible to reduce output power variation in 8% passband to 1 dB.

EFFECT: reduced output power variation, enhanced electronic efficiency.
