FIELD: ultra high frequency technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric vacuum ultra high frequency equipment. The sectional traveling wave lamp (TWL) includes an input, output and intermediate sections, sections of a slow-wave system such as a coupled-cavity chain (CCC) and sections with non-coupled cavities. The dispersion characteristic of the output section of the traveling wave lamp is synthesised from several dispersion characteristics with different frequencies of the high-frequency cutoff of the ССС bandpass, the above is achieved by synthesis of the geometric dimensions of the CCC. The high-frequency bandpass edges of the sections of the slow-wave system of the CCC differ by 2 to 5% from the average frequency of the CCC bandpass, and in the working frequency band, the phase velocity of the wave is the same for all dispersion characteristics, the frequencies of the input section of the CCC and the intermediate sections of the CCC at the short-wave bandpass edge differ from the frequencies of the output section by 1.5 to 5% to the lower or upper sides of the frequency range.
EFFECT: provided possibility of eliminating parasitic self-excitation near the high-frequency bandpass edge, reducing the electrical requirements for the UHF load at the output of the traveling wave lamp, expanding the range of acceptable destabilisation of the input signal power and accelerating voltage without losses in the output signal quality, reducing the requirements for the output load of the TWL.
