METHOD FOR PREDICTING DIFFUSE NONTOXIC GOITER IN SCHOOLCHILDREN Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2240032 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: one should detect thyroid volume by thyroid US data and child's sex. According to child's thyroid volume, sex and body weight one should calculate Belyakova's coefficient. The upper border of Belyakova's coefficient norm corresponds to 0.2 ml/kg. In case of its increased value one should conclude upon diffuse nontoxic goiter. The method is very simple and could be applied both in epidemiological trials and for practical doctors, as well.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of diagnostics.
