SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for preparing adamantyl-containing nitriles of the general formula:

wherein if R¹ means hydrogen atom (H) then R² means hydrogen atom (H), CH₃, C₂H₅, (CH₃)₂CH₂, C₆H₅, C₁₀H₇, C₅H₁₀NCH₂, (CH₂)₃CN; if R¹ means CH₃ then R² means CH₃ that are intermediate products for synthesis of biologically active substances. Method involves addition of corresponding nitrile to derivatives of adamantine wherein 1,3-dehydroadamantane is used as derivative of adamantine that interacts with nitriles among the following order: acetonitrile, phenylacetonitrile, α-naphthylacetonitrile, isobutyronitrile, piperidinoacetonitrile, 3-piperidinopropionitrile in the mole ratio of reagents = 1:(3-10), at temperature 60-140^oC for 4-8 h. Method provides simplifying the preparing adamantly-containing nitriles and to synthesize end compounds with the branched structure.
