FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns ferrous metallurgy, particularly it concerns method of steel smelting in electrical steel-smelting furnaces. Method includes loading into furnace of scrap metal, introduction of lime, pouring of cast iron, blowing off of metal by oxygen and insufflations into metal in flow of indifferent gas of mixture of carbon-bearing material and material containing 5-90% of magnesium oxides. Additionally content in mixture of carbon bearing material is 10-90%, and amount of injected into metal mixture is 0.8-70 kg/t of liquid steel. Injection into metal of mixture of carbon bearing material and material containing magnesium oxide is implemented at the period of metal blowing off by oxygen. In the capacity of material containing magnesium oxide it is used fired dolomite, dolomitic limestone, metallurgical fluxes, containing not less than 25% of magnesium oxides.
EFFECT: usage of invention provides reduction of expenditures of energy at melting of steel and increasing of stability of firebrick lining.
