FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of treating natural and waste waters as well as other liquid solutions with the aid of ion-exchange filters, in particular to methods of regenerating ion-exchange resins that can be used in power engineering, metallurgy, chemical and other industries employing desalted or softened water. In performing modified ionite regeneration process in filtration "UPCORE" process, prior to compressing ionite layer by upward directed liquid medium stream , this layer is preliminarily treated with stream of liquid to be treated moving in downward direction with linear velocity exceeding average working value by 5 to 250%, generally for 1 to 5 min.
EFFECT: enhanced regeneration efficiency and prolonged (by 5-10%) filtration cycle.
