FIELD: gas treatment.
SUBSTANCE: field of invention are production enterprises emitting nitrogen oxide-containing gases. Gas emissions mixed with methane are passed through alumino-palladium catalyst containing 0.5-0.8% palladium metal and having cellular structure based on natural- or artificial-origin cordierite mineral. Catalyst is prepared by coating cordierite support with γ-alumina carrier, impregnating the latter with palladium salt solution, drying, and calcination. More specifically, alumina coating is formed by impregnating cellular structure of cordierite with colloidal solution of aluminum salts described by general formula Al(OH)l(NO3)mnH2O, where l = 1-2, m=1-2, and n=0-2, whereupon impregnated structure is dried and calcined.
EFFECT: reduced carbon monoxide emissions (from 2000 to 400 tons yearly per one production assembly).
