FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with field of metallurgy, in particular with a method of starting up of process of direct melting for production of iron in a metallurgical container with a set of tubes / tuyeres for introduction of a source material. The method of starting up includes the stages of a preheating of the container, loading of a batch of the melted iron in the container with formation of a liquid molten bath, loading of a carboniferous material and a flux into the liquid molten bath and introductions of oxygen-containing gas through one or more tubes / tuyeres as a preparation for introduction of a source material, incineration of carbon and the gas formed in the molten bath? if such is present, and so heating of a liquid molten bath during formation of a slag, loading of a metal-containing source material in the container at continuation of loading of a carboniferous material and a flux and introduction of oxygen-containing gas, smelting of the metal-containing source material with production of the melted iron. The invention ensures the use of a more efficient and productive procedure of starting up of the process of a direct smelting.
